ASSIST-U.S.® And Environmental Monitoring/Research

ASSIST-U.S. ® is expanding into marine wildlife and aviation surveying. This arose from our flight crew capturing video footage last May of a pod of right whales that we then spontaneously shared with the New England Aquarium. Their research team analyzed the video, identified the whales and posted their analysis on their blog (view it here).

This is another example of how ASSIST-U.S. responds to emerging needs for aerial surveillance services.

And through our EnviroEyeSM product, we also supply high-definition still and video imagery for applications such as:
  • environmental services firms (environmental monitoring, wildlife tracking)
  • property insurance companies (disaster and hazardous events response and claims processing, before and after asset surveys)
  • utilities (pipeline surveys); electronic news services (breaking news events, public events), and
  • real estate firms (exterior property promotion with a 3-dimensional perspective).

ASSIST-U.S.® Attends the New England Association of Fire Chiefs (NEAFC) Annual Meeting in Springfield MA

This past week-end, Bruce Seibert (Founder/Product Manager) and I were privileged to join between 5000-6000 firefighters – full-time personnel and volunteers of all ranks and positions – and hundreds of other vendors at the annual New EnglandAssociation of Fire Chiefs (NEAFC) annual meeting in Springfield, MA.

In particular, we wanted to meet with as many chiefs and deputy chiefs as possible to show examples and benefits of our aerial streaming video imagery services to their operations. At our booth, our laptops displayed footage from our post-storm damage assessment of the very recent Springfield, MA tornado, along with footage of a structure fire in Concord, NH, where we arrived within a minute of the fire trucks.

We were encouraged by the interest and response of the chiefs and firefighters who stopped by our booth, as well as by representatives of the NortheasternForest Fire Protection Compact (NFFC), which coordinates resources for conservation departments and mutual fire aid associations of the Northeastern states and eastern Canada provinces. Other interested parties included several training vendors who saw the potential value of using our archival footage in their organizations’ curricula.

ASSIST-U.S. Attended the Northeastern Forest Fire Protection Annual Meeting

At the invitation of technology partner Global Relief Technologies, I had the opportunity to represent ASSIST-U.S.® on January 25th at the Northeast Forest Fire Protection Compact (NFFPC) annual meeting in South Portland, ME.

NFFPC members came from around the U.S. and Canada to share experiences and learn about the latest technologies and services available to support their efforts. I was able to present our new marketing video, “ASSIST-U.S. Emergency Response Capabilities,” a 5 min. 40 sec. overview of our current capabilities in this market (view it here).

During the “Vendor Night” session following the meeting, I spoke in more detail to several vendors — potential customers and technology partners – as well as potential end-users of our aerial EO/IR, real-time full motion video services. Vendors with whom we may be able to collaborate synergistically included Firewise Communities, Quincy MA; Northeast Forest and Fire Management LLC, Sandwich MA, and simtable, Santa Fe NM.

Interested end-users represented the various Departments of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection from the New England states and the Canadian Province of New Brunswick. This was time well-spent to raise our company's visiblity to an important segment of the New England emergency response community, and we are encouraged by the interest in our services.
